����ý’s John D. MacArthur Campus in Jupiter has launched an exciting new research training opportunity for recent college graduates looking to take the next step in their career.

Applications are now being accepted for the campus’s first Postbaccalaureate (Postbac) Fellowship Program. As a world-class life sciences and biomedical research hub, Florida Atlantic’s Jupiter campus is an ideal environment for new researchers to hone their knowledge and skills under the mentorship of some of the world’s top scientists.

“����ý Jupiter offers a remarkable opportunity to kick-start a career in science,” said Bethany Stanhope, Ph.D., executive director of Academic Operations at the Jupiter campus. “Our postbacs will be immersed in a unique ecosystem of collaborative innovation among globally renowned research institutions.”  

Postbaccalaureate fellows will work alongside scientists from Florida Atlantic’s Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute, the Institute for Human Health and Disease Intervention, the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science, and the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College. They will also benefit from collaborative opportunities with on-campus partner institutions - the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience (the first and only Max Planck Society institute in the United States) and the Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation and Technology. In addition, they can access state-of-the-art resources such as the ZEISS Microscopy Solutions Center and the ����ý Nikon Center of Excellence.

“The postbac experience doesn’t stop at the door to the lab,” said Stanhope. “Seminar series, collaborative projects and exclusive workshops on subjects like advanced imaging ensure well-rounded enrichment and a chance to forge meaningful connections with fellow scientists.”

Eligible candidates should have earned their bachelor’s degree within three years prior to applying. A fellowship is one year with the opportunity for one renewal. The program is designed for individuals planning to pursue a Ph.D. or an MD/Ph.D. in biological sciences, neuroscience or biomedical sciences. The fellowship is a full-time position, and accepted fellows should not pursue another degree program during their time as a postbac.
