We usually per/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/form random acts o/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/f kindness when we /thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/first meet someone or /thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/for a stranger. We buy our new /thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/friends’ /thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/food and o/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/f/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/fer to drive them places, we compliment strangers and hold the door /thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/for them. But what happens a/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/fter you’ve been best /thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/friends or dating someone /thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/for years? Typically, random acts o/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/f kindness start to become less /thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/frequent. A/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/fter you have established and proved you love someone, you might stop showing it. However, random acts o/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/f kindness, which is a /thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/form o/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/f showing love and appreciation, should stay /thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/frequent in your relationships. Below are ways to do this and some advice on how to do it.


1. Do the little things

Random acts o/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/f kindness don’t have to be drastic, expensive, time-consuming, or big. Writing an encouraging message on a sticky note and putting it on their desk, door, book, bookbag, etc. can be a simple, yet very impact/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/ful act o/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/f kindness. I have made my roommate’s day just by writing her a one-sentence note. When you make co/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/f/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/fee or chew a piece o/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/f gum, o/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/f/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/fer people some. Wash your roommates’ dishes, give someone a hug, sit with someone who is sitting alone, or simply just be a /thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/friend to someone who doesn’t have many. Most times the smallest acts o/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/f kindness are the ones most needed.


2. Listen to others

Listening in o/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/f itsel/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/f can be an act o/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/f kindness. Make sure people know they are being heard and cared about. Whether it’s listening to their /thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/funny story, their bad day, or anything else, listening and being there /thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/for people can be li/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/fe-changing /thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/for them. I had a /thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/friend who was struggling through some li/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/fe events tell me one time, “thank you /thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/for listening, it made me /thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/feel so much better”, and I didn’t even o/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/f/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/fer advice! All I did was listen. Can you believe that an act o/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/f kindness can be as simple as not saying or doing anything?!


3. Take initiative

Reaching out to a /thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/friend and asking to grab co/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/f/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/fee with them, making movie plans with someone, or sending a nice text to someone telling them to have a nice day, are all acts o/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/f kindness. Take the initiative in your relationships and reach out to people. Making people /thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/feel like you want to hang out with them is an act o/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/f kindness because it can most o/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/ften than not make their day and make them /thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/feel loved.


As you can see, being kind isn’t hard. Whether it’s a /thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/friend you’ve had /thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/for years, a group o/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/f people you hang out with, a signi/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/ficant other, or a teacher, you should strive to make random acts o/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/f kindness part o/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/f your li/thrive/students/thrive-thursdays/kindness/fe.
