Happy New Year! Welcome to all new students and welcome back to our returning students.

The start of a new calendar year and a new semester can be an exciting and transformative time for new and returning students. While beginning classes, buying books, and settling in with roommates garner most of the attention, student health should not be overlooked. To ensure a successful and thriving college experience, students are encouraged to schedule a well visit at the beginning of the new year.

This proactive approach to healthcare can have numerous benefits, ranging from preventive care to establishing a strong foundation for physical and mental well-being throughout the year.

During your wellness exam, also known as an annual physical, a provider will assess your physical health, mental well-being, immunizations, and lifestyle habits.

鈥淲e love getting to know our students during well exams! Our providers are trained in college health and understand the unique stressors students face. This visit is a valuable chance to connect, address potential health issues early, and help students stay healthy,鈥 says Allie Schwartz, the Chief Medical Officer at Florida Atlantic鈥檚 Student Health Services.
