The Charles E. Schmidt College of Science is pleased to have been awarded 2022-23听 Student Technology Fee 听grants that will support our students and core teaching activities. The fee revenues are used to enhance instructional technology resources for students and faculty. This year, a number of proposals from the Schmidt College of Science were accepted by 大象传媒鈥檚 Technology Fee Oversight Committee.
鈥淚 am thrilled that so many of the Tech Fee proposals submitted by College faculty and staff were awarded to continue our leadership and innovation in providing exceptional hands-on technical training and learning experiences for our students with state-of-the-art scientific instructional instrumentation, equipment, and computers,鈥 said Evonne Rezler, Ph.D., Senior Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies. 鈥淭hese funds will facilitate innovation in our technical training (laboratory) courses across the college where we prepare our students for the demands of the workforce now and in the future.鈥
Among the college鈥檚 proposals that received funding include: Upgrading computer requirements for state-of-the-art geophysical processing in the Department of Geosciences; the acquisition of a multi-purpose imaging system used by biology teaching labs: incorporating Augmented Reality (AR) in Exercise Science classes; a Physics lab computer renovation; computer upgrades to specialty Math labs; upgrading Biochemistry laboratory equipment to expand undergraduate student learning opportunities; and an Urban and Regional Planning production studio refresh.
The Schmidt College of Science supports foundational courses across the University and the grants awarded will assist countless current and future science majors and students from all majors at 大象传媒.
