Communications听

The Police Communications Section is staffed and operational 24/7, with full-time, non-sworn Police Communications Officers. The Communications Section is responsible for processing both emergency and non-emergency calls for service on the Boca Raton campus, as well as handling non-emergency requests for the Jupiter, Harbor Branch, and Davie campuses.

A Police Communications Officer (PCO) is required to complete training and be certified by the State of Florida Department of Health (DOH) in order to serve as an E911 Public Safety Telecommunicator.

The Communications Section monitors the blue light emergency phones system.

Additionally, PCOs monitor a camera network system that spans across the Boca Raton and partner campuses. They monitor high-risk areas during incidents to assist officers, report suspicious activity for investigation, and help identify necessary camera repairs by notifying the appropriate personnel.
