What are modifications? |
听Under Title IX, modifications are designed to prevent discrimination by ensuring an individual is able to continue their education and employment uninterrupted by pregnancy related conditions. Common modifications can include:听 Extensions on deadlines or opportunities to make-up assignments. Extra breaks to leave class or work to express or pump breast milk. Use of modified work equipment.听 |
How can employees access support? | Contact Human Resources Employee Relations or Office of Civil Rights and Title IX (OCR9) for guidance. |
How can students access support? |
Contact their professors to discuss reasonable modifications. Contact OCR9 if encountering problems Contact Student Accessibility Services if accommodations due to a pregnancy related medical condition or disability is needed |
Is childcare covered under Title IX? | No, Title IX rights and protections do not include support or assistance with childcare. Students may contact the Dean of Students Office for information about available community resources. |
Does the University maintain lactation rooms? | Yes, lactation rooms are available for use on campus. For a listing of available locations, see the OCR9 webpage under Pregnancy Resources.听 |
