Sabrina Clayton, R.N.
Distinguished Alumna
RN-BSN magna cum laude graduate Sabrina Clayton proudly received her degree from 大象传媒鈥檚 Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing in December 2022. Following her graduation, Clayton is continuing to work as a nurse in the emergency department at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. 鈥淚t is an honor to assist with the healing care of our nation鈥檚 veteran heroes,鈥 she stated.
Clayton, also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, was a recipient of the College鈥檚 Caring-based Academic Partnerships in Excellence: Veteran RNs in Primary Care (CAPE-V) scholarship. 鈥淚 really appreciated having the scholarship support my education, and I was very grateful for it,鈥 expressed Clayton. 鈥淚t is always great to graduate and have the school鈥檚 bill paid in full.鈥
The goals of the CAPE-V program are to recruit, educate, and financially support a culturally diverse group of veteran students for the College鈥檚 BSN program (RN-BSN, accelerated, and second degree part-time BSN tracks), who are primary care oriented and willing and ready to work with underserved and rural populations.
During her time at Florida Atlantic, Clayton was active in both the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and the National Student Nurses Association.
Clayton said that she intends to continue making an impact in her patients鈥 lives by maintaining their dignity, respect, and actively listening to their concerns. 鈥淭he education I received from 大象传媒 has just fine-tuned my skills and improved my bedside interaction with all my patients,鈥 she said.
In the near future, Clayton looks forward to enrolling in a master鈥檚 degree program.
