Dean's Welcome听
Hello Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing friends and supporters!
I am honored to be serving as the Holli Rockwell Trubinsky Eminent Dean of nursing for the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing, and only the fourth dean of the College since its founding in 1979. With a rich legacy of caring in nursing, I am proud to be able to build on this foundation of academic excellence in collaboration with faculty, staff, students and the broader community.
Among my top priorities as I enter this role is to enhance the current academic programs, research and clinical practice opportunities that will allow students to obtain the training and knowledge to establish successful careers in the nursing profession. I plan to create new and strengthen existing partnerships with regional health care facilities and community partners to increase practicum opportunities for our students and produce more highly-qualified nurses ready to enter the workforce.
To ensure our students are receiving a high-quality, world-class education, my goal is to attract and retain faculty scholars and staff who are committed to student success. That means advocating for additional funding to expand our academic offerings, provide state-of-the-art facilities, technologies and initiatives for students to be caring, compassionate nurses prepared to adapt to an evolving health care environment. Innovation is driving change in how we respond to the needs of communities here and abroad and I firmly believe that our students must exhibit the skills and human caring that patients expect and deserve.
In addition to my role as the Dean of Nursing, I will also be serving as the Chief Executive Officer of the 大象传媒 Northwest Community Health Alliance (大象传媒/NCHA) Community Health Center. My goal in this role is to work collaboratively with the board and other stakeholders to strengthen and grow the two clinic sites currently caring for underserved populations in West Palm Beach. Providing primary and behavioral health care to uninsured or underinsured individuals, many of whom have chronic conditions, is part of our mission to advance the science and practice of nursing grounded in caring. Additionally, and just as importantly, the Louis and Anne Green Memory and Wellness Center also falls under my purview and is integral to the local community as providers and nursing students respond to the needs of individuals with Alzheimer鈥檚 disease and related dementias (ADRD). The impact these three facilities provides to the community is instrumental to the health and wellbeing of our communities.
Looking ahead, I am excited to meet and learn from the Florida Atlantic community and our clinical partners to strengthen Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing鈥檚 reputation as an international leader in fostering a caring and cutting-edge learning environment.
With gratitude,
Cameron G. Duncan, Ph.D., DNP, APRN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, CNE, FAANP
