Gabriella Engstrom, Ph.D., R.N.

Biography
Gabriella Engstrom, Ph.D., R.N. is a Research Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine.
Dr. Engstrom supports medical students and residents on various research initiatives, with a particular focus on geriatric medicine. Her current research interests include investigating head and fall-related injuries in geriatric patients in the emergency department.
A notable aspect of Dr. Engstrom's work involves the Interventions to Reduce Acute Care Transfers (INTERACT) program. INTERACT is a quality improvement initiative designed to assist long-term care facilities and programs in improving care and reducing unnecessary hospitalizations
Dr. Engstrom completed both her Nursing and Ph.D. in Medicine at Uppsala University in Sweden. Prior to joining ´óÏó´«Ã½, she served as the Associate Dean and Program Director for the undergraduate and master's nursing programs at Mälardalen University in Sweden.Education
