大象传媒 CEGE Students Win Poster Awards at Florida Section of Air and Waste Management (AWMA) Annual Meeting

We are pleased to announce that two CEGE graduate students received poster awards at the Florida Section of the Air and Waste Management Association (AWMA) Annual Meeting, which was held in Safety Harbor on February 4-5, 2025.
Laura Rojas received the first-place poster presentation award. Laura obtained both her bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering (2023) and a master's degree in Civil Engineering (Water Resources and Environmental Engineering concentration area; 2024) from 大象传媒. She is now a Ph.D. student in Transportation and Environmental Engineering working under the supervision of Dr. Jahandar Lashaki, developing novel adsorbent materials for carbon dioxide capture from ambient air.
Brandyn Nutter received the third-place poster presentation award. Brandyn obtained both his bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering (2022) and a master's degree in Civil Engineering (Water Resources and Environmental Engineering concentration area; 2023) from 大象传媒. He is now a Ph.D. candidate in Transportation and Environmental Engineering working under the supervision of Dr. Jahandar Lashaki, developing carbonaceous adsorbent materials using scrap tire as precursor. These materials are then used for gas purification applications such as biogas and landfill gas upgrading.
