����ý graduate Morgan Foohs completed a Master’s in Educational Leadership in December 2020. She is a fourth-grade teacher at Jensen Beach Elementary in Martin County who completed an accelerated program titled Educational Leadership: Intern to Excellence (ELITE) which makes her eligible to apply for an Assistant Principal position in her school’s district.

“ELITE has provided the opportunity and experiences to grow my capacities as a leader, educator and advocate for all students,” said Morgan. “Learning from current educational leaders within my school district and fellow ELITE cohort members has created a network of support and continued learning that extends beyond graduation.”

ELITE is a 22-month state approved Master’s Degree Program in Educational Leadership offered by ����ý College of Education. It is an accelerated partnership program that includes district specific professional development for school leaders. Students in ELITE are mentored by their school principals who support them throughout their course work and internship activities. This design allows students to develop professional relationships with leaders across their district.

St. Lucie Public Schools, in partnership with Martin County School District and ����ý’s Department of Educational Leadership and Research Methodology (ELRM), collaborated to develop the ELITE—Educational Leadership: Intern to Excellence Partnership Program. Okeechobee County School District joined the ELITE Partnership in the 2018-19 school year.
