As institutions increasingly prioritize data-driven decision-making, the importance of the assessment process used remains critical. The appreciative assessment process can be employed to augment advising practices and maximize support for students from different backgrounds. In this webinar, we will introduce the appreciative assessment process and share quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method approaches that can be leveraged to maximize an appreciative assessment design. Using a case example, we will share how an appreciative assessment plan can be designed using various data sources to increase engagement with multiple stakeholders. Attendees will have an opportunity to reflect on their current assessment strategies and explore how the appreciative assessment process may be applied in their advising contexts.
