Samieca Morgan is an Assistant Dean of Students and Case Manager at ´óÏó´«Ã½. In her role, she is responsible for addressing the needs of students in crisis by providing advocacy and coordination of resources, as well as helping students navigate the services, processes, and policies at the university. Additionally, Samieca is the co-chair of the Exceptional Circumstance Withdrawal Committee and is a member of several committees at ´óÏó´«Ã½.

Before working at ´óÏó´«Ã½, Samieca worked as a Transition Counselor at PACE Center for Girls. As a Transition Counselor, Samieca worked with at-risked girls and young women, facilitating therapeutic support groups, and providing individual counseling. In this role, she oversaw the afterschool program, assisting students with college and career planning. Because of her dedication to working with the students in the program, Samieca was asked to join the School Advisory Council for Educational Alternatives in Palm Beach County. Before working at PACE, Samieca started her professional career as a therapist with Chrysalis Health Center.

Samieca holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from ´óÏó´«Ã½ and a Master of Social Work degree from Barry University. She is passionate about working with vulnerable populations and helping people become the best version of themselves. Samieca believes that to who much is given, much is required, and has a strong desire to pay it forward.

My name is Andrew Kasan and I am new to the ´óÏó´«Ã½ community! With a decade of experience as a social worker, I am deeply passionate about supporting individuals and communities. Over the years, I’ve dedicated myself to understanding and addressing the unique needs of others, always striving to make a positive difference in their lives. I believe in the power of connection and empathy, which is why I’m here to help the ´óÏó´«Ã½ community thrive. My goal is to provide guidance, support, and resources to those in need, fostering a sense of belonging and well-being. Hi and welcome. My name is Deidre (Ashley) Johnson. I graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelors in Human Development and Family Sciences. I am also a proud ´óÏó´«Ã½ graduate where I received my Masters in Social Work. My professional journey thus far has afforded me the opportunity to serve the community and provide mental health support and case management services to people from various populations. I am grateful for the opportunity to provide guidance, encouragement, and a listening ear to the students at ´óÏó´«Ã½. The academic journey can sometimes present many challenges along the way, but remember, you do not have to figure it out on your own.

My name is Candace Harrinarine (she/her/ella). I am a proud alumni of ´óÏó´«Ã½. I obtained my Bachelors of Criminal Justice. I graduated with my Masters in Higher Education at Louisiana State University. I have served in crisis management positions for over eight years in Louisiana and Florida. I started working at ´óÏó´«Ã½ in 2016 and continue to love what I do. Even though I am meeting with individuals during a difficult time, it is honor to be able to support and help others.

My name is Brittany Mascetti and I graduated from ´óÏó´«Ã½ with a Bachelors in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. My career here at ´óÏó´«Ã½ began in 2022 when I took on a Dean’s Assistant position in Academic Affairs. I have always wanted to serve in a position where I know I am helping people, and in my role as Victim Advocate I get to do just that. I believe everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and understood and I do my best to ensure that anyone I am helping knows that they are supported.

Hello there. My name is Dr. Nicole Kogan (she/her). I was awarded my Ed.D. in Student Affairs Leadership from the University of Georgia, after having earned my MS Ed. for College Student Development and Administration from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse and a B.A. in Philosophy from Wittenberg University (Ohio). After 16 years in higher education, I came to ´óÏó´«Ã½ in August 2023 to serve as the Assistant Dean/Director of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution. The work I do affords me the opportunity to help students when they are at a crossroads in their academic and personal paths. Our processes and conversations provide students support with their transition to collegiate life and help them understand the impact their choices have not only themselves but their community. The growth and development they can experience is unlimited, and I am grateful to be a small part of their journeys.

So happy to meet you! My name is Janelle Freire and I am a proud two-time graduate of ´óÏó´«Ã½. I received my Bachelors in Secondary English Education and my Masters in Higher Education Leadership. I have worked at ´óÏó´«Ã½ since 2019 when I was a graduate assistant in the Dean of Students office and have since grown within the office to my current role. Wanting to be a teacher, I have always loved working with students and watching them grow into a greater version of themselves. College is a great time for students to start making their mark on the world. Even if I meet a student for less than five minutes, I want them to know they can use me as a resource. If I cannot be the one to help, I can be a connecting line to their next adventure.

I am Dr. Dax Boatwright and I graduated from Florida A&M University with a Bachelors in English and Masters in Applied Social Science with a concentration in Political Science. I also received an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Florida State University and completed my Ph.D. program in Higher Education Leadership at ´óÏó´«Ã½. My professional experience began at the Florida Department of Education serving in the Bureau of Educator Certification by helping prospective teachers earn their teaching certification. Since my arrival at ´óÏó´«Ã½ in 2014, I have served in the Registrar’s office, New Student Transitions and Family Engagement and the Dean of Students office. I fundamentally believe student involvement produces positive student experiences that then evolve into a deep sense of belonging to an institution. This is the guiding principle of my public service as my joy working in higher education originates in helping students achieve their academic goals and maximize their preparation for the career of their choice.
