The Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Studies emphasizes all forms of civic engagement in a unified curriculum that includes course work in rhetoric, intercultural communication, and media and cultural studies. Reflecting current conceptual shifts in the field, these subject areas are integrated under the general heading: Communication Studies.

Multimedia Studies鈥擣ilm, Video and New Media

The Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Studies is a comprehensive curriculum that includes courses in film studies, television studies, journalism, video production, computer animation, and studies and practices in multimedia, interactive media, and new technologies. The program is arranged into two sequences: 1) Film, Video and New Media, and 2) Multimedia Journalism.

Honors Program

The Honors Program in Communication is open to qualified students who wish to pursue a course of study organized around a specific topic, area of interest, or creative project. It is open to all students regardless if their orientation is creative, scholarly or practical communications. Students take a special sequence of courses both inside and outside the Department and in their last semester complete a Senior Honors Thesis or a Senior Honors Project under the direction of a department faculty advisor.
