Students applying for a second baccalaureate degree must have received their first bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution and achieved a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher. A "major" is required for all students seeking a Second Bachelor's Degree when submitting the application online. Second bachelor’s applicants cannot be admitted to the same major they received their first degree from.

Please note specific degree requirements regarding Second Baccalaureate Degrees, to earn a second baccalaureate degree, students must:

1. Earn a minimum of 30 credits in residence at ����ý beyond those required for the first degree. Students earning two degrees simultaneously ("dual degree") must earn at least 150 credits.
2. Earn at least 75 percent of all upper-division credits in the major department from ����ý (effective for students who entered ����ý in fall 2010 and going forward). Some majors may require more than 75 percent. Consult the degree requirements section of the major for details. The previous requirement, to earn at least 50 percent of all upper-division credits in the major department from ����ý, is still in effect for students who entered ����ý prior to fall 2010.
3. Satisfy the admission and graduation requirements of the department and college granting the��second��degree as described under the heading Lower-Division College and Department Requirements. Students who have received a bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited institution of higher education will be deemed as having met the ����ý general education requirements. Students must meet the foreign language��admissions��requirement, however, if required for one of the two degrees.

If you are a former, degree-seeking ����ý student, but not currently enrolled, your eligibility to return will depend on several factors. Degree-seeking students returning after an absence of more than a year may be subject to the following:

1. If last enrollment was more than three consecutive semesters, the student must file a new admissions application with the appropriate documents and submit a new application fee of $30.
2. If the student has attended another institution since the last period of enrollment at ����ý, official transcripts must be forwarded directly to the ����ý Office of Admissions by the registrar of the other institution(s).
3. The student must be in good standing (eligible to return) at ����ý and at any institution attended since last period of enrollment at ����ý. If the student was academically dismissed from ����ý, that student would need to petition to be reinstated to ����ý before the admissions application can be processed (this is handled by the college in which the student was academically dismissed.)
4. Previous attendance at ����ý does not guarantee admission. Quality of any interim work and successful progress toward a degree are considered.
5. A returning student that is denied by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions has the right to appeal through the�� FCSA.

If you have not attended for at least three consecutive semesters,�� you must re-apply for admission.

In addition to meeting the University admissions requirements, International students whose first language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency, as determined by the university. Visit the�� Undergraduate International Admissions ��for more information on the different methods to prove English proficiency at ����ý. If eligible for readmissions, returning former students will be readmitted to the same major they were pursuing when they last enrolled at ����ý (except Engineering and Nursing majors).

Students who have one or two unsuccessful attempts at college math courses will be required to attend the�� ��prior to being able to register for another math course.

3. Submit all test scores (if applicable)

Students looking to utilize their military educational benefits should receive approval from their military counselor or service advisor prior to enrollment.

Please know that�� Military credits ��are reviewed and credit awarded using official transcripts and resources:

• Joint Services Transcript (JST) American Council on Education (ACE) recommendations
• Community College of the Air Force (CCAF)/Air University transcript
• ACE Military Guide
• Statewide Credit or Clock Hour for��
• Discipline-faculty and subject-matter experts

The Offices of Admission and Registrar review military credits as potential equivalents to courses that may satisfy ����ý’s General Education curriculum. Military credits are included in students’ personalized Degree Audit �� . Passing scores �� on the College Level Examination Program (CLEP), DANTES Subject Standardized Test (DSST), and Defense Language Proficient Test (DLPT) are taken from the JST and included under “Exam Credits.”

Florida Atlantic’s Military & Veterans Student Success Center�� ��is dedicated to assisting you and your dependents with VA educational benefits. The office is staffed with veterans who have the knowledge and experience to help you understand and meet the certification process, as well as refer you to additional services and resources you may need to thrive here.

����ý student re-admission:�� ����ý Policy ��requires that students who are not enrolled for three or more consecutive semesters must reapply for admission. ����ý students who are deployed or otherwise provided orders for US military service that interrupts enrollment for 3 or more consecutive semesters will have their application fee waived upon providing a copy of military orders.
